A bit about me…
George Plumley
Following formal broadcasting training for three years, I was a broadcaster for another ten, mostly doing radio news (reporting, interviewing, hosting). As I witnessed and reported on what went on around me, I found myself wanting to effect great changes in society rather than just reporting on them.
I realized that the people who primarily effected that change were the people who developed and then communicated the ideas that produce change – the college and university professors. So I embarked on an academia-based path; working in the most fundamental field of ideas – philosophy.
As I neared my original goal of becoming a university professor, however, I realized two things: I did not have nor had I developed enough of the abilities required to be a great professor and second, that my own house was in poor philosophical order (I wasn’t practising what I was preaching).
I pursued some other dreams – writing and producing for audio, doing voice-over work (and eventually teaching it) – and got my philosophical house in order enough to meet someone special and then to raise two wonderful children. Somewhere along this way I became entangled in the world wide web. My wife began running her own publicity firm and we realized the importance of having her clients properly coached in being interviewed. And so I arrived at this point. We’ll see what happens next…
