Sometimes you need to practice yourself being in the limelight__where there_ you are the Star which every eye...is eying on your every move and word.

One must project how he/she would display before the crowd…all the more when speaking.

Public appearances for the celebrity/social figures or especially people in politics, should be scheduled; that however, the event would be pre-meditated_to what comfortable gestures and wits must be taken into consideration or think for the do's and don'ts. Otherwise, the whole scenario would be judged poor and uninteresting; thus, may drive people not to trust you but critics.

If ever possible, one must be organized and composed at any event, to gain trust and support by the many.

A man more often than not, relies his Judgment to what he has actually seen and heard.

Thanks for that added context, Hrag. About your point of emailing interviewees with the quotes you're planning to use, to make sure that they aren't misrepresentative, that's an excellent idea. I think a lot of journalists develop the mistaken notion that any sort of "running things by" the interviewee is giving up control of the story. However, they're not distinguishing between that and ensuring accuracy.

It's true that it was a longer conversation...about an hour. I was disappointed but I'm well aware of how frustrating/confusing it was be when you write a final piece and inadvertently forgot to write down a word as part of a quote. Sometimes I even email quotes to those I interview if there is any question regarding context, etc.

[...] A week or so ago I mentioned the controversy over statements made by Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper during a taped encounter with journalist Tom Zytaruk in 2005 in the driveway of MP Chuck Cadman’s widow’s home. The statements allegedly showed Harper acknowledging that payments had been offered to Cadman when he was alive in an effort to get the independent MP to switch over to Harper’s Conservatives.
